Welcome to Bakewell Veterinary Clinic. We provide veterinary services for pets, farm and equine animals delivering high standards of animal healthcare and customer service.
The practice deals with most species of domestic and farm animals. Each vet has different specialist interests and skills, offering a breadth of expertise and knowledge. Our Bakewell premises is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons accredited veterinary practice offering a guaranteed high level of facilities and services.
We place great emphasis on training and education, with all staff attending regular courses, tutorials, and conferences. We are a registered nurse training centre.
All farm species are treated – cows (dairy and suckler), sheep ,goats and pigs along with their pet equivalents and more exotic species such as alpacas and llamas.
The equine branch of the practice treats horses, ponies and donkeys throughout Derbyshire and surrounding area. We have our own dedicated surgical/hospitalisation facilities at Bakewell for most routine surgery and procedures.
Vets play a key role in maintaining the health and happiness of your pet so it's very important that you have a good relationship and find a vet who you like and trust. Most importantly, you want a vet who speaks plainly about your pet's health in a way you can understand and feel comfortable with.
Ideally you will want to look for a vet located near to your home so that it is easy for you to take your pet in and less travelling for your pet which can be a stressful experience for them. It is possible to be registered with more than one vet at any one time and eminently practical where pet owners have more than one home. To ensure case continuity, it is advisable to keep each vet informed of ongoing conditions.
