Our Services
First opinion consultations
We now boast an exceptional team of dedicated equine vets offering a 24 hour emergency service for injured or sick horses, as well as a full range of routine veterinary services.
Digital x-ray
We are able to take and develop high resolution digital x-rays at our Deepdale clinic for rapid interpretation. Our x-ray machine is mobile and can be used on site in emergency situations.
Video Gastroscope
Our state of the art video endoscope and gastroscope (unique in this area) allows both vet and client to see on-screen the larynx (roarers), lungs and the stomach (ulcers).
Ultrasound
We use ultrasound to investigate tendon and ligament injuries, wounds and also for fertility work.
Shockwave
This is a relatively new treatment for a number of equine injuries, particularly those involving ligaments. A course of treatments has been shown to significantly speed up recovery.
Lameness/nerveblock
Our experienced team of vets will use an extensive lameness work-up in conjunction with nerve blocks to accurately pin-point the source of pain so the appropriate diagnostic steps and then treatment can be taken.
AI Services
We offer a choice of stud packages including all routine stud work, inseminations and ultrasound scans. The packages can be chosen based on using frozenor fresh semen. Please contact our equine clinic for more information.
Surgical facility and stables
We have a padded knockdown box and anaesthetic circuit to maximise safety for short surgical procedures. There are stabling facilities (CCTV monitored) for any horse requiring hospitalisation.
Equine dentistry
We provide routine dental care (rasping, removing hooks, removing wolf teeth) as well as remedial dentistry such as extractions and correcting severe misallignments. Dentistry often requires sedation which can only be administered by a veterinary surgeon.
Bringing your horse to Deepdale has the advantage that it is safely restrained in our stocks, in good lighting with specialist equipment to hand. In addition, there is no visit charge.
JMB measurement
Kirsty MacGregor is a member of the Joint Measurement Board Ltd and can perform official measurements at the Deepdale Equine Clinic.
Appointments with remedial farrier
We have a specialist remedial farrier that visits the practice for more complex cases. Contact us for more information.
